It is Not Too Late – Schedule Some Fun for 2014

Duck 011

Do you remember in high school when you saved every ticket stub or prom flower from someone special and put it on your bulletin board at home.  The bulletin board helped make the memories even more special.  Why did we stop doing that?

Well, I have started back and it is so much fun to see my bulletin board fill up each year with ticket stubs, cards, business cards, pictures, mementos and anything else that I deem special during the year.

For most people you have somewhere between 52 and 130 discretionary days during the years.  Are you just letting those days pass without any plan?  It is easy to do.  You get a day off and you decide to be lazy and before you know it it is too late to do anything fun or rejuvenating.

Be more intentional and start today to plan and put on your calendar some fun things for 2014.  You will be glad you did and you will have the memories at the end of the year to prove it.

At the end of the year I go through all my memorabilia for the year and relive some of those moments again.  Then I box it up and write the year on the box. I also store my taxes in that box and any other date sensitive material so I can retrieve it if I need to.  This way I always have a record of the year and some of the special moments.

I guess you could say this is a lazier version of scrap-booking.  If I wanted to scrap-book, I have everything in one place and easy to find.  Go make some memories in 2014.

Leave me a comment and tell me what you do to make your memories special.
